Keep it simple!

Google says, simplicity means 'the quality of being plain' and it also means 'freedom from hardship or efforts'. Does this definition applies in all circumstances and with every person? When a person tries to handle a heavy moment in a simple way, does that mean he/she is free from hardships or efforts? No.

The point is, things could be hard, circumstances could be complicated, moments could be tough but solving it in a simple way with clarity and vision, is what life is all about.
Steve Jobs said it this way-"Simple can be harder than complex. You have to work hard to get your thinking clean to make it simple. But it's worth in the end because once you get there, you can move mountains."

Keep it simple at work

Even after 300 interviews and thousands of conversations with entrepreneurs and successful people, you will never hear them uttering:
"Well, you know, I had an idea and a plan and it went exactly as I thought it would, with no mistakes. And it was really simple and I made millions!"
Not even once.
Ever.

Surprising? No. We all make mistakes.

Don't complicate your tasks. Don't multitask. Keep a to-do-list.  Prioritize. Be clear with your words and actions.
Think about when you are confused- what do you do? Probably nothing and walk away. More you will complicate it, more confusing it will be.
"Besides the noble art of getting things done, there is the noble art of leaving things undone."  -Lin Yutang
People don't remember complicate or confusing. People remember things that are simple and sticky. Your business and your offerings should be easy to explain.

Keep it simple at fitness

When it comes to fitness, everyone have their own definitions. Whatever fitness means to you, you just need to keep the process simple. When you try to apply everything what you see or hear about fitness on your body, shit happens.
"Your body can stand almost anything. It's your mind that you have to convince."
Be consistent. Don't rely on willpower. Don't rush on other's experiences. Don't try to apply it all. Know your body and its necessities and you will already be one step ahead in this journey.

Most importantly, make it a habit. Once it gets into your habit, there could be nothing as simple as that. You will never know the power of habits until you make a useful one. Watch this video to see how powerful your habits could be:

Keep it simple in relationships

Relationships, whether of blood or not, are precious. Sure, everyone has struggles and conflicts but when you're constantly fighting, you need to reconsider things. According to researches, relationships aren't complicated at all. There are only certain elements that a healthy union needs.

Common interests are something which keeps two people interested but when things starts becoming uncommon, conflicts arises. To foster a real relationship, there has to be something besides partying or wining and dining on which to base your relationship.

Relationships are not projects. People might change but you shouldn't go into a relationship wanting to change somebody, it never works out the way you think.
"You don't develop courage by being happy in your relationships everyday. You develop it by surviving difficult times and challenging adversity."

Respect. Communicate. Consistency. Loyalty- Definitely not as hard as it sounds!

Keep it simple at within

"It's all inside our head"- It is one of the ultimate truths that I've been experiencing from a long time. If you can simplify it in your head, you can simply it in your life.

➠Don't try to be 'Perfect': People complicate things by seeking perfection. Strive for progress, not perfection.
➠Trust the process: Processes take time. Through patience and consistency, you might be pleasantly surprised with how much you can accomplish.
➠Focus on where you can simplify: I've read it somewhere 'simplifying as many parts of your life as possible will free up your time to be with your family, work on your business, meditate or relax', and is actually true. Give yourself permission to simplify by cutting corners where you can.
➠Live in the moment: If you're exercising and feeling the pain- feel the pain. Don't ignore it. Don't mute it. Be conscious of everything that you do or feel.
➠Redefine everything in your life: Things like success were already defined for us- big house, good job, finishing college. whatever. Those things aren't success. They can be. but they shouldn't be.
This man says it better-
"Everybody has their own private Mount Everest they were put on this earth to climb."   - Hugh Macleod
Redefine what life means to you.

Something being "simple" or "complicated" is in the eyes of the beholder. Instead of complaining "this is way more complicated than it needs to be", take actions to keep it simple.

Life is simple. Let's keep it that way!
